Glass Hand Dissolving: Owen Hart & Yokozuna
vs Bob Holly & 123 Kid (4/3/1995)
This is pretty much an Owen Hart singles match with Bob Holly with a tag match built around it. The 123 Kid starts it with Owen, and tags in occasionally, and Yoko is mixed in sparingly, but it is really about Owen and Holly. It's not a very good tag match for that reason, and it is really only an ok singles match.
vs The Allied Powers (7/23/1995)
I thought this was really good. I'm a sucker for good weeble-wobble selling, and Yokozuna does it so well. The crowd goes nuts when Luger and Davey get Yoko up for a backbody drop, and they are pretty much there for everything in the closing stretch. Owen bumps big when Yoko needs a break. I really dug this a lot.
vs Razor Ramon & Savio Vega (8/7/1995)
There are a few good sections here: Yoko and Razor in the beginning, Owen and Razor in the middle, and parts of Savio and Yoko at the end. There isn't a lot tying those sections together, and so despite some good stuff, this doesn't feel like a good match.
vs The Smoking Gunns (9/25/1995)
Owen and Bart start things off with some criss-crosses, and Billy quickly tags in. Bill spends the majority of this match in the ring, first with Owen and then with Yoko. It is a mostly fine section, Billy wrestles evenly with Owen, tries to out-speed and out-smart Yokozuna to limited success. Billy sells a lot, and my biggest issue is that he fights out of a headlock and then a nerve hold in exactly the same way within a matter of minutes. He gets the hot tag into Bart, and Bart takes it to Owen, when Yoko attempts to break up a pin, Billy is on the spot to deter that. The Gunns hit their finish, Yokozuna attempts to break it up with a splash, but hits Owen instead, and The Smoking Gunns are new champs. My biggest problems with this were Billy's stuff, so it's not a negative on Owen and Yoko, but this isn't a great match either way.
vs Razor Ramon & 123 Kid (10/28/1995)
We start out brawling, and Kid and Ramon can get Yoko out of the ring, which involves some great weeble-wobbling. When things officially start, it's Owen and Kid, which is a great match-up. We don't get anything on the level of the King of the Ring match, but everything looks good. Owen tags in Yoko, and we get the kid trying to his best against Yokozuna, but being unable to mount anything resembling damage. When we come back from the commercial, Owen and Ramon are back in the ring. Yoko works a nerve hold, which I wish were more compelling. Razor tries his damndest, but it just isn't convincing, ever. Razor attempts to mount a comeback, but can't, and Yoko tags Owen back in. Ramon is struggling, and just when it appears he's tagged in the Kid, the ref apparently doesn't see it. All of that makes it so much more meaningful when Kid does eventually tag in. He gets a brief moment to shine, but he runs right into Owen's belly-to-belly suplex, and it's over. This was pretty good, the best of the TV matches.
Verdict
I don't know if this is the resume of one of the greatest tag teams ever, but I think this is certainly a team deserving of some consideration. There also aren't a lot of matches in the catalog, which doesn't help.
