Glass Hand Disolving: America's Most Wanted

The Greatest Wrestler Ever Poll voting period is about to start. My ballot is pretty much done, and I'll probably write up my ballot here at some point. There was a 2016 Tag Team Poll, but not one for 2026, so here's my idea. Do one in 2031 in some form, so here's the first post, where I watch 5 matches from one of the teams nominated in 2016, and if there's time I'll cover the more recent teams after.

vs Christopher Daniels & Elix Skipper (TNA PPV #51)

So, this isn't the one with the wild 'rana from the top of the cage, but I'd say this is the better match. There's some wierdness that comes from them attempting, especially early, to uphold a sort of traditional tag structure with wrestlers on the apron. Its a pretty good match given then those restraints, but when they sort of disregard that, and just get wind for the last five or so minutes, things get really interesting, especially with absolutely wild top-of-the-cage leg drop at the end.

vs Team Canada (Final Resolution 2005)

I suppose this match is notable for the big goose egg that Eric Young gets in the begining of the match. Other than that, I can't say that I was taken by much of anything in this match. The finishing stretch is fine, its a bit too much 'WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE' until it becomes a comedy of errors. The crowd was hot, and nothing was offensive or bad, but I can't say anything stuck with me either.

vs Team 3D (UWF/TNA 1/13/2006)

This was filmed, but for all intents, this is a house show match, and it is worked accordingly. Again, its fine, but nobody really set out on this night to light the world on fire. I'm sure the people there were excited to see the Dudleys, and got to see somebody go through a table, which is a success in a pretty meaningful way, but not for me, on my laptop, in 2026.

vs LAX (Turning Point 2006)

I know this is supposed to be about AMW, but boy was LAX good here. Hernandez looks great in his spots, and Homocide is great everywhere else. I'm coming away from this match a lot more hyped up about LAX than AMW. Anyway, this is pretty good, it's got some angles running through it that take away from the match, but again, I pretty much enjoyed all of this.

with Heath & The Good Brothers vs Honor No More (Against All Odds 2022)

A lot of this is built around the AMW reunion, standing up for TNA against the ROH team. James Storm is still pretty good, he's never really stopped wrestling. Chirs Harris, on the other hand, pretty much retired after his ECW flop. That's pretty much all there is to say about this, a nice moment, a nice story for a 10-men tag, but really nothing more than that.

Verdict:

Probably not Top 50, not totally ruling it out, but I'd have to pretty underwhelemed by a lot of other teams for that to be the case.
